Farrobo Count Palace was one of the most magnificent properties in Portugal, its size and wealth rivalled the wealthiest and most noble residences of the time.

Only a person of high fortune and social influence would be able to carry out a project of this kind, mirroring in a pale form the greatness of Joaquim Pedro Quintela, second baron of this name and first Count of Farrobo. It was his recreation farm, where he held celebrations for the nobility and the upper bourgeoisie, organised hunts and produced high-quality wines.
